Teilhard understood 'evolution as the universe growing closer in relationship with God... Teilhard’s devotion to the Sacred Heart empowered him to see the struggles of his own life as part of evolution’s process of becoming more conscious and more whole.'

The Feast of the Sacred Heart this year is on June 12, 2026. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the most widely practised and well-known devotions venerated by the Catholic Church (Eastern and Western), Western Orthodoxy, Anglican Communion, and Lutheranism. The heart of Jesus Christ is viewed as a symbol of "God's boundless and passionate love for mankind."
